Kid portion is a share of an adult serving — 70% is a fair default for a 10-year-old, though plenty of them out-eat their parents. Swap any meal in the menu below and everything recalculates.

Menu

Per adult serving. The badge is calorie density; Skurka's target is 125 cal/oz. Tap any meal to swap it.

Per day, per adult

Travel days carry two meals rather than three, so they land lighter by design.

Three things worth knowing

Protein runs lean on a vegan list. This lands around 55–60 g/day per adult. Fine for a few days; on the six-day trip an ounce a day of pea protein or extra TVP adds roughly 25 g/day and is worth it. Plant menus hit calorie density easily through fat and miss protein quietly.

Oil is doing the heavy lifting at 240 cal/oz — that's what lets an all-plant list clear 125 cal/oz without becoming entirely nuts. Carry it in a small leakproof bottle and add it at the pot, not in advance.

Hummus powder is not a normal supermarket item. It turns up in some stores’ bulk bins and from specialty outdoor brands online, but do not plan a shopping trip around finding it. If you want to avoid the hunt, switch that lunch to Refried bean wraps in the menu below — same job, same wrap, and refried bean pouches are stocked everywhere. Tahini in a squeeze tube is the other easy swap.

Dried fruit is the density trap. It reads healthy and sits at 80 cal/oz, well under target — every ounce has to be paid for with an ounce of nuts, oil or chocolate somewhere else. Watch the badge go amber if you load up on it.
